Finmap + Odoo: Automatic Cash Flow Tracking

Odoo

Odoo is an open-source suite of business applications, including accounting, that businesses can adopt module by module — it has outsized adoption among European and other international SMBs compared with some US-centric accounting tools.

Odoo holds a business's transaction history and books of record, but on its own it's a record of what already happened, not a forward view of what's due next week or next month. That's the gap a Finmap connection closes: once Odoo is linked, its transaction data feeds into Finmap's forward-looking cash flow forecast alongside a business's bank accounts and other connected sources.

Finmap works as a data aggregator, not a bookkeeping replacement — connecting Odoo doesn't change anything in a business's Odoo account or its books of record. Finmap reads the transaction data already in Odoo and uses it to build and maintain the forecast, without anyone needing to export files or re-enter numbers by hand.

For a business already running its accounting in Odoo, that means a cash flow forecast built on real transaction data instead of a spreadsheet someone has to rebuild every time the numbers change.
